Traditional Lists and Classifications of Shakti Peethas
Different Hindu texts and regional traditions preserve different lists of Shakti Peethas. They may differ in the body parts counted, inclusion of ornaments, identification of locations, and distinction between principal, subsidiary and related Peethas. Therefore, no single total is universally accepted.
