Devi Talab Mandir
Tanda Rd, Shiv Nagar, Industrial Area, Jalandhar, Punjab 144008
Devi Talab Mandir is a major goddess temple in Jalandhar built around a sacred tank. Regional tradition identifies it with Jalandhara Peetha, and the complex is also known for the Harivallabh music festival.

Devi Talab Mandir in Jalandhar is a major religious landmark of Punjab, centred on a historic sacred tank known as Devi Talab. The renovated temple complex includes a shrine of the Goddess, while an older Kali temple stands beside the tank. Its accessible urban setting and long-established devotional role draw worshippers from Jalandhar and the surrounding region for daily darshan, vows and festival observances.
The site is regionally identified with the Jalandhara Shakti Peetha. According to the tradition followed in this database, Sati’s breast, or stana, fell here; the Goddess is worshipped as Tripuramalini and the associated Bhairava is Bhishana, with Ishana appearing in some variant accounts. The geographical identification is not completely uniform across all Peetha traditions, because Kangra is also proposed by some sources. Recording the Jalandhar association with a qualification respects the living local tradition while acknowledging the competing claim.
Navratri is a principal festival, when the temple receives especially large numbers of devotees and the worship of the Goddess intensifies. The complex is also connected with the long-running Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, which gives the location an important place in India’s classical-music culture as well as its sacred geography. Devi Talab Mandir thus combines Shakta pilgrimage, local history, an enduring water shrine and a notable cultural legacy in the heart of Jalandhar.
Jalandhara tradition associates Sati's breast, stana, with the Peetha and names Tripuramalini with Bhairava Bhishana or Ishana. Devi Talab Mandir in Jalandhar is a regional identification, while Kangra is another prominent claimant. The location should be presented as one tradition among several. Sources vary.
1. For the dteails of Peetha, Body parts, Devi, Bhairava we primarily used the book The Shakta Pithas by Dr. Dines Chandra Sircar (D. C. Sircar), and secondaryly used the book 108 Divya Shaktipeethas by Banwari Lal Kanchhal. 2. This Shaktipeeth is mentioned in the list of the Pithas (Mahapithas) in the Shivacharita. 3. Banwari Lal Kanchhal, in his book 108 Divya Shaktipeethas, identifies this temple/place as a Samshaktipeeth. However, D. C. Sircar, in The Shakta Pithas, lists it as a Shakti Peetha, referring to the list of Pithas (Mahapithas) mentioned in the Shivacharita.
