Vibhasa Shakti Peetha

Bargabhima Temple at Tamluk is an ancient Goddess shrine identified with Vibhasa Shakti Peetha. The temple stands on a raised platform in the historic region once associated with Tamralipta, an important settlement and port in eastern India. Its living worship connects Bengal’s Shakta tradition with the longer archaeological and cultural history of Tamluk.

The Peetha is recorded as Vibhasa. According to the database tradition, Sati’s left ankle, or vama-gulpha, fell here.
