Devi Patan Shakti Peetha

Devi Patan Temple at Tulsipur is a major Shakti shrine of eastern Uttar Pradesh and an important pilgrimage centre near the India–Nepal border. The Goddess is worshipped as Pateshwari Devi. Regional tradition connects the shrine with the Nath Sampradaya and Guru Gorakhnath, while Balrampur district’s official account also records later royal patronage and renovation. In the Peetha tradition followed by this database, Sati’s right shoulder fell at Devi Patan. The Goddess is Pateshwari Devi. On Chaitra Panchami, the deity of Pir Ratan Nath is traditionally brought from Dang in Nepal and worshipped alongside the Goddess, reflecting the shrine’s long regional connections. Devi Patan’s living rituals, Nath association and cross-border pilgrimage make it one of the most significant Goddess temples in the Balrampur–Tulsipur region and a natural anchor for a regional Shakti circuit.
