Shree Harsiddhi Mata Temple is located near Mahakaleshwar and Rudra Sagar in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the city’s foremost goddess shrines and an essential stop in Ujjain’s combined Shaiva and Shakta pilgrimage circuit. Two tall deepa-stambhas, or lamp towers, dominate the courtyard. When their many oil lamps are illuminated during major observances, they create the temple’s most recognizable ritual spectacle. Regional tradition also associates Harsiddhi with King Vikramaditya and regards the goddess as a protector of Ujjain.

The shrine is widely connected with Ujjayini Peetha. According to the tradition used in this database, Sati’s elbow, or kurpara, fell at Ujjain. The Peetha goddess is named Mangala, while Bhairava is Kapilambara, also given as Kapileshvara. The exact relationship between the textual Mangala Peetha and the modern Harsiddhi shrine varies across sources, so the identification should be presented as a strong regional tradition rather than a completely uniform textual conclusion.

Navratri is the largest festival period, with special worship, yajnas and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp towers. Local cultural programmes may also be described as Harsiddhi Utsav. Pilgrims commonly combine the temple with Mahakaleshwar, Kal Bhairav, Ram Ghat and Gadkalika. Harsiddhi’s importance comes from its living goddess worship, distinctive lamps and central position in Ujjain’s sacred landscape.

Note on the body part

Ujjayini Peetha tradition associates Sati's elbow, kurpara, with Ujjain and names Mangala with Bhairava Kapilambara or Kapileshvara. Harsiddhi Temple is widely connected with Ujjain's Shakti tradition, although the goddess and precise modern shrine differ across textual and regional lists. Sources vary.
